Finials

Today I feel like showing off some of my favorite items. I've linked up with Cindy at My Romantic Home for Show and Tell Friday.

This is a pair of finials that we purchased in Beirut, Lebanon. The church across the street from our flat was remodelling, it was only 100 years old. These were on the corners of the entry gate. Each one weighs about 100 lbs. We paid 5000 Lebanese Lira for them (about $2.50). I have them in my family room.

Thanks for looking at my show and tell.

It's nice to find a fellow finial fanicier! What is it about them that makes me weak at the kness? I have a small collection but none with the impressive history that these ones have!

Your finials are beautiful, and what a history they have! I'm glad you shared their story today. I also very much enjoyed your world traveler table (so many interesting pieces!). The passport was the perfect finishing touch!
