Classic Red Tablescape

I'm linking with Tablescape Thursday.  Check out all the other wonderful tables posted here.

I'm so glad to be back to my blog!  Unfortunately I left my camera at my MIL's on Thanksgiving Day and it took me until this week to return and retrieve it.  There's also the fact that I've been so busy teaching high school English and getting papers and finals graded.  No time to even think of putting  a table or any other post together.

I have been keeping up with others, however.  I love seeing your posts, even if I haven't commented.

I have a friend in Texas who puts together lovely tables in her home and she posted some pictures on Facebook.  I commented about how lovely her goblets were.  She told me where to get them, but then decided to send me a set!  What a wonderful surprise gift!  Thank you Susan!

And thank you to Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for always hosting Tablescape Thursdays.  You are a gem.

These red goblets are the bit of lovliness.  They are from HSN.  The candleabra is a garage sale purchase from earlier in the spring.

The chargers and plates are from Target.  The flatware is a hand-me-down from my MIL.

The napkins were a garage sale purchase, and the napkins ring are this season at Target.

The holly branches are from Costco.  I unfortunately don't have a backyard full of wonderful trees to prune for holiday festivities.  I was glad to see the live holly at Costco to make up for it.

Thank you all for stopping by.  I wish you all a very merry Christmas season.

You teach high school English, huh? I had REALLY better watch my grammar on my comment! No dangling participles or prepositions at the end of sentences for me!!! :-) Lovely, lovely table! The stemware IS very pretty, too! Glad you were able to get it. I love the fresh greenery down the center of the table. I am a fresh greenery hound, and I'm always thrilled to see other people use it, especially during the holiday season! I hope you and your family enjoy a very happy Christmas and that you in particular enjoy the Christmas break from teaching!

I love red and white, and your table is just lovely. I totally understand how grading English papers can steal your minutes away, too.

Yikes.

Merry Christmas and thanks for sharing such a festive red and white table.

The red and white theme is so beautiful. Those goblets really set it off. That candelabra is gorgeous and I bet you really get a lot of use out of it. Have a Merry Christmas.

As a high school English teacher, I spent a number of years grading themes, research papers, creative writing projects, etc. Loved the teaching...couldn't stand the administrative "falderah." When I stopped teaching after my second child was born, I decided that I'd rather sell painted turtles at TG&Y. I have mentored periodically, and I'm still a teacher at heart. I admire that you had the energy to set any table at all. Your goblets are wonderful, and you've done a beautiful job with your tablescape! Thank you for sharing your charming design. Happy New Year!
