Lost Year! Missing in Blogland

It has been a long year.

I haven't posted since August  2012.

First, I had no more space for pictures.

 

 

Then in September, my daughter married her sweetheart of five years.  She got married in Sacramento at the Vizcaya. They were so wonderful and it included cake, food, outdoor wedding, indoor reception, bartender, security, and day of wedding coordinator.

 

My mother had been battling pancreatic cancer since February.  She was doing so well that she was able to make her dress and fly down for the wedding of her only granddaughter.

 

This is her at the wedding.

 

In January she passed away.  The cancer had spread to her liver and she just didn't have any fight left.

 

 

My husband and I are now house hunting: looking for our very first house to purchase!  We've been married twenty nine years and are just now able to buy a house!

Super Busy the Last Three Months

I have been extremely busy the last three months! We spent February and March packing and moving into our new rental home.  Then we spent all of April unpacking. All the while Husband was coaching baseball and doing his missionary job and teaching, and I was teaching as well.

We were also spending time driving to southern California to see our future son-in-law play his last year of college ball.  While we were at the last game of the year, our son walked up and surprised us!  He was home on leave from his deployment and we had no clue.  We were so surprised!

Daughter's birthday is this week.

This week is graduation for Son-in-Law and Daughter, two different colleges.

And we have put a ton of miles on my poor little Jeep!  I love this vehicle.

Tomorrow we pick up Daughter's stuff from college. Next week is high school finals and then I am out for the summer.  I promise to get back to blogging.  I have lots of pictures of the new house.

And did I mention the wedding rushing toward us in September?

Cottage Charm Giveaway

Last year I discovered Twice Remembered's Cottage Charm Giveaway. I only participated by entering the drawings on different blogs across blogland. This year, I wanted to participate with a giveaway. Be sure to visit Twice Remembered to see what else is out there.
So for the month of May, you will be able to enter my very first Giveaway! Now, my house is not really cottagy. It is a California tract home decorated with the souvenirs and furniture that we purchased in the Middle East. I do enjoy the cottage style though. Daughter's room is now beach cottagy. I would love a sewing craft room all to myself that is cottagy.
But for now, I offer this cottage charm apron.

It is fully lined in white. The main fabric is tiny red pindots on white with a cute red pocket. I may add some more cuteness to it soon, maybe a fabric flower.

I decided to take pictures out in the grapevine. It has finally turned sunny, but we have a ton of wind, commonly called the "Delta Breeze".

I found a great website that was super simple to use to change my background! I am so excited. Check the spot at top left and check it out. What fun. Maybe one of these days I'll even be able to make my own background.
