Summer Salt and Pepper

I have been looking for plastic salt and pepper shakers to take outside with my Captain America melamine plates and accessories.  I can't find any anywhere.  So I came up with a second option.  Husband had purchased these pre-filled ones at Target.
I pulled out some scrapbook paper scraps, cut them to size and used my tape runner to glue them on.

I decided to tie the jute around them to make sure the paper stays well stuck down.

That's all for now!
Thanks for stopping by,
Blessings, Jeannine

Morro Bay Beachcombing

I'm linking with Laura at  Decor to Adore for Wayfaring Wednesday.  Enjoy all the virtual trips.

Husband, Daughter and her fiance and I had a great morning beachcombing at Morro Strand, a beach just north of Morro Bay on the California coast.

The weather was perfect for walking. Lots of wind as is normal on the central coast. It was sunny and we had tons of fun.

Hopefully this will be the beginning of a summer with many daytrips.
Enjoy your summer!

Beautiful Beach Day

We finally went to the beach at Santa Cruz last Saturday. It was 105 degrees here in the valley and a wonderful 85 at the beach. We played in the surf, the kids built a sandcastle using only a gatorade bottle and we laid on the sand.

Later we walked up the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, smelling the pizza, corndogs, and candy. We pitched dimes and Daughter's BF pitched baseballs. We ate pizza at a sidewalk cafe then walked back to the car. It was a great day overall. I had been looking forward to going to the beach since April. I had to wait til everyone was home.

And now that Summer School is over I have two whole weeks of summer vacation until school starts up again.
